Topology optimization with extrusion manufacturing constraints
Published on September 16, 2020
In topology optimization, you can take into account the restriction of the manufacturing process that will be used to produce the part by specifying geometric constraints. The “extrusion constraint” is particularly useful as it can create designs that are extrudable, machinable, or drawable.
In this nTop Live, Chase Allan, Solutions Engineer at nTop, shows you how to set up a topology optimization workflow with extrusion constraints in nTop. He also demonstrates how to affect the geometry that the optimization process produces by altering the control parameters of the extrusion constraint.
Watch and learn how to:
- Set up a topology optimization workflow in nTop
- Specify and control the result of the extrusion constraint
- Post process the optimization results to create smooth geometry
